Keep up the efforts! October 30, 2008

What a great morning! It is hard to believe the countdown is now down to 5 days. I have just uploaded a new video from a bus stop in Clermont County, Ohio.
Everyone knows how critical it is to win in the battleground states. It was even critical to the election of our first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln. After seeing successful returns in those competitive states in 1860, Lincoln wrote his former rival and future Secretary of State, William Seward, “It really now looks as if the Government is about to fall into our hands. Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana have surpassed all expectation.”
Today, I want to thank everyone for rallying behind John McCain and Sarah Palin. Together we are making a difference in states all across the country and we will surpass all expectations. Keep up the hard work, press on, and on January 20th we will be uniting together to inaugurate John McCain the 44th President of the United States!

I took part in the last Pink Elephant’s Conference Call. PLEASE PLEASE DEFINE & CLARIFY Health Care “tax” being used as an attack on Obama rallies. THE RALLIES ARE VISIBLE AND EFFECTIVE on TV!
Also, as another Pink Elephant strongly suggested….an announcement of someone coming on board McCain’s Presidential “team” would have a terrific and positive effect.
McCain’s “FIGHT” battle-cry is wonderful! Palin’s rally-speeches yesterday were the best yet.
Chairman Duncan,
I am a 52 year old former Army officer, and 3d generation black conservative. Sometime in the last few days I saw you on TV. You stated that in the aftermath of the election you would be soliciting ideas. I have some:
1. EVERY elected Republican should carry a miniaturized copy of the latest fiscal budget with them at all times, and especially when appearing on TV. The budget should be available to INSTANTLY REFUTE any claim that “we’re not spending enough”, especially on social programs.
2. Elected Republicans should assume that EVERY TV interview will be hostile and be prepared for BATTLE, regardless of the news outlet. Earlier today, I watched Rep. Marsha Blackburn get ambushed by Sheppard Smith about spending over the past eight years. Ironically this was AFTER Mr. SMITH had just suggested that President Bush should agree to Mr. Obama’s request for a 2d stimulus package, which would bring MORE spending.
3. All Republicans need training in the art of verbal self-defense. For example, in the situation above, Rep. Blackburn could have easily derailed Sheppard Smith’s attack by simply ASKING HIM why he was pressing her on spending when he had just called on George Bush to agree to Obama’s plan to SPEND MORE.
4. Elected Republicans need to realize how demoralizing it is for the rank and file to watch them trying to “make nice” with reporters who HATE THEIR GUTS. Taking on the media is THE SINGLE thing that would have the greatest, most direct impact on troop morale.
5. Elected Republicans need to stop being afraid of being accused of being “rich, mean white folks”. They get accused of that anyway, even after bending over backwards to change this perception. George Bush is still stereotyped as “mean” and “racist”, even AFTER putting more funds into No Child Left Behind and the Africa Aids initiative than any Democrat ever THOUGHT of doing. I’m not an advocate of being mean, but our kindness is widely interpreted as WEAKNESS.
6. Democratic corruption needs to be brought to the public attention BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY. I’ve seen Republican scalps littered all over the political landscape, while folks like Willam Jefferson and Alan Mollohan, Chrales Rangel survive and thrive. It offends me that Senator Stevens is indicted and charged with a felony for a problem with his Senate Finnacial Disclosure Statement, WHILE time after time Democratic improprieties are swept under the rug as “administrative oversights”.
That’s not all, but I’ll close for now. I wish you well and good luck. Your work is cut out for you.
